Little did I know how lucky we got at that time. This Dreams was still not open in June 2022 when we were supposed to stay here so we received vouchers to come back within 12 months and got to stay at Secrets Cozumel. Let me start by stating that we came here with two vouchers for four people so we did not have to pay for the stay. Bottom line is that I would go again in a heartbeat. The hotel is a bit far from town but if you don't plan on going to town often or are okay with spending $20 for a taxi ride, then it is well worth it. We did not have the opportunity to try some of the specialty restaurants though. The other restaurants we ate at were okay. In fact, my wife got sick later that night. The food we were served was NOT good tasting. El Patio, which is a Mexican restaurant at the Sunscape Sabor, did not do a good job. The Not So Good = Unfortunately, we did have some bad luck at one of the restaurants. We didn't meet a single unhappy or crabby employee the entire time we were there. Among the best of the staff that we met were el Capitan JORGE, also JULIO, ITZEL, JANA, MIGUEL, AND AMADO! Hope I didn't miss anyone but if I did they were all great. By the end of our week, we were sad to be leaving because we had made so many friends. They were all helpful and very, very pleasant. Everyone there spoke some English if you need it and some of them were fluent. Good food for all meals and a decent variety. The Excellent = The World Cafe at the Dreams. Restaurants at the hotels varied from excellent to not good. There is a long stretch of beach that you can walk along with no vendors. You can use the bars, beach, pools, restaurants, or whatever at any of the three. This hotel shares facilities with the Secrets and the Sunscape Sabor. The balcony had 2 chairs and a small table. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were ok. The shower was large, beautiful, and plenty of hot water. The toilet area of the bathroom is separated by a smoked glass partition. Not a lot of choices for meals but relatively quick and tasty.
They were excellent at refilling the drinks and snacks in the room. The room was very nice with a great view of the pool and the ocean (stayed on 5th floor). The beach area was very nice but a little short on chairs in the morning. There were generally enough chairs for everyone. The pool was nice but a bit cool in February. We had a great time at the Dreams Cozumel.
